(From 'POLITICO')

“Chasing the Hill” follows the reelection campaign of a Democratic representative from California struggling to fend off a primary challenger. She hires a veteran political consultant at the last hour in a desperate effort to hold on to her seat. Robin Weigert, who earned an Emmy nomination for her role in HBO’s “Deadwood,” plays Rep. Kristina Ryan. ROSKE: Something that gets missed in the way the media handles politics is how incredibly difficult it all is. Matthew Del Negro ('Sopranos', 'The West Wing') plays a campaign manager who's brought in at the 10th hour to get a campaign back on track for a Congresswoman's re-election (Emmy nominee Robin Weigert). These politicians - they work harder than ever campaigning to get the job and then - if they win - the days get even longer. 'Chasing The Hill' isn't trying to make demons out of anybody. Especially during this long development process and meeting with actual politicians and strategists I have a greater respect for them as a group. Public service is a noble profession but it can be a cruel world to live in. I wanted this show to shine a positive light on it all while still being truthful to the reality of the game.
